The BA Arts & Humanities Council has several signature events that happen ever year in the community. Under these banners, the Arts Council brings the best in culture and entertainment to Broken Arrow. Check this page often to see when your favorite events will be coming up!
TUESDAYS IN THE PARK (June)
Tuesdays In The Park is one of the most popular events sponsored by the Council. The Council strives to follow their mission of creating an awareness and encouraging the arts by providing opportunities such as this series.
This event is held every Tuesday evening in June at Central Park. The concert attendees are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy a grand evening of music. Each evening features a variety of music from across the state. Tuesdays in the Park traditionally includes Gospel, Pop, Big Band, Country, Bluegrass and Jazz.
The Council strives to provide an opportunity for the community to hear a variety of musical styles for their enjoyment. Tuesdays in the Park could not happen without the community support, as well as partnerships with local businesses, local banks and the BA Parks Department.
2009 TUESDAYS IN THE PARK LINE-UP Coming Soon!

THE LUNCHBOX SERIES (April and October)
The Lunch Box Series is a community partnership with the Broken Arrow branch of the Tulsa City/County Library. The series is a literary arts program deveoped to feature local authors, book reviewers and illustrators.
The Council saw the need to provide a venue for area writers to promote their work at a different time. In accordance with our mission this is an opportunity to educate the community about the various literary arts. The goal of this series is to reach the businessmen and women of the downtown Broken Arrow community as well as the retired community.
ART AFTER HOURS (Seasonal)
Art After Hours is an event dedicated to showcasing local artists. Their works are displayed in the lobbies of local banks or art galleries and are given a formal opening with snacks and a presentation. Art After Hours also becomes a plate auction during the winter as a fund-raiser for the Council. The event is free and open to the public. Past artists who have participated have included Duane Blankenship, Jay O'Meilia, Kathleen Kilgore McElwaine and various other regional and nationally-known artists.
THE ENCORE SERIES (Seasonal)
The Encore Series goal is to promote the arts through musical and theatre presentations. The Council's mission is to create an awareness and encourage the arts within the community. By providing opportunities the council hopes to promote education within the art forms presented.
Events in the past have included cultural explorations of dance and music, an annual Christmas show honoring the memory of Ralph Blane and even international acts like the Vienna Boys Choir.
The community partnerships are very important in this endeavor. The Broken Arrow Arts and Humanities Council, Historical Society, Chamber of Commerce, Broken Arrow Community Playhouse and NSU are just a few of the community partnerships that will collaborate together to make this happen.
